About

Project Dear Kiara was created in collaboration with Kiara’s parents, Anne & Paul, and Kiara’s friend, Lilli, to raise awareness about suicide prevention. It aims to provide a safe space for those struggling with mental health obstacles and educate on the importance of mental health support.

Kiara's Story

Kiara Elise Echaniz

Kiara tragically took her life on May 12, 2023 after a long battle with anxiety and depression. However, she continues to live on in the hearts of all those that knew her. She was a joy to be around, a positive thinker and cared deeply about her family and friends. When not spending time with her loved ones, Kiara loved to draw, watch her favorite shows, and bake. Project dear Kiara harnesses her compassion and love and extends it to others struggling as she did.

You are never alone.

"dear Kiara"
A Biographical Poetry Collection

Alongside the rest of Kiara’s friends and family, we have worked tirelessly to detail Kiara’s life story in our biographical poetry book "dear Kiara". Including Kiara's original artwork, Anne and Paul's recollection of their daughter's story, and Lilli's original poetry, we hope to convey Kiara’s spunk, laughter, and the unbidden happiness she brought to any room she was in.

The biographical poetry collection “dear Kiara” is a story about a young girl who loved her family and the rest of the world fiercely. Beyond preserving Kiara's story, it will discuss suicide and its signs, with the aim of providing mental health support to those struggling.
